Biography
四天王寺高校卒業。ジュリアード音楽院学士課程を卒業後、ホアキン・アチュカロ氏に招待され、南メソジスト大学・メドーズ音楽院にArtist Awardを授与され入学。修士課程及びパフォーマーズ・ディプロマ課程を修了し、同校より、成績優秀者に贈られるHarold Von Mickwitz Prize in Piano Awardを受賞。
アリス・タリー・ホール・コンサートシリーズ（ニューヨーク）に推薦され出演するなど、日本、アメリカ、スペイン、イギリス、スイス等において国際的に演奏活動を行う。ジュリアード音楽院にて選抜され、推薦演奏会、音楽科企画コンサート等に多数出演。

ピティナ・ピアノコンペティションB級～G級金賞・銀賞・ベスト賞、全日本学生音楽コンクール高校の部大阪大会第１位、宝塚ベガ音楽コンクール第3位等、国内のコンクールで入賞するほか、アジアピアノコンペティション（マレーシア）第１位、パデレフスキ国際ピアノコンクール・イン・ファーミントン（コネチカット）第3位、メトロポリタン国際ピアノコンクール（ニューヨーク）ドビュッシー賞等、国外のコンクールにおいても入賞を重ねる。
ソリストとして、リベイラン・プレート交響楽団(ブラジル)、メドーズ交響楽団（ダラス）、ニューフィルハーモニック大阪、大阪チェンバーオーケストラ等と共演。ヤマハJOCにて選抜され、ユニセフチャリティーコンサート、川上源一メモリアルコンサート、ガラコンサート（於・Bunkamuraオーチャードホール）、ハイライトコンサート（於・ザ・シンフォニーホール）等の演奏会にて自作曲を演奏。作品は5枚のマスターコレクションＣＤに収録され、楽譜がグレードテキストに編纂され出版されている。
これまでに、永島香、クラウディオ・ソアレス、武田真理、服部久美子、チュンモ・カン、ジュリアン・マーティン、ホアキン・アチュカロの各氏に師事。2009-2011年ヤマハ音楽振興会音楽奨学支援奨学生。国際バカロレア(IB)音楽講師。大阪音楽大学講師。

Born in Japan, pianist Akari Mizumoto has earned her Bachelor of Music degree at The Juilliard School in 2017. Awarded an Artist Award and scholarship, she continued her study at Southern Methodist University under the guidance of Maestro Joaquín Achúcarro. Akari has earned her Master of Music degree and Performer’s Diploma from the university, and received Harold Von Mickwitz Prize in Piano Award for outstanding performances.
Actively participating in national and international competitions, she has won numerous prizes including the first prize at the Asia Piano Competition in Malaysia, the first prize at Sakai International Piano Competition in Japan, Debussy prize at the Metropolitan International Competition in New York, Concerto prize at the Meadows Concerto Competition in Dallas, the third prize at the International Paderewski Piano Competition in Farmington, and Special Commendation at the Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists in Germany. Akari has also participated in several music festivals and academies including Hamamatsu Music Academy and Ishikawa Music Academy in Japan, where she has received IMA music award.

Akari has performed numerously in Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Spain, England, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil and United States. Her most recent performances include participation in the concert series held at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, New York. She also has given performances of her own compositions in Japan and United States. As a part of Yamaha Junior Original Concert series, she performed in renowned concert halls including Tokyo Bunkamura Orchard Hall (Tokyo) and Osaka Symphony Hall. Her compositions are recorded in the CD “Master Pieces Collection”, as well as the scores are published by Yamaha Music Foundation. Apart from the career as a recitalist, Akari also has appeared as a soloist with numbers of orchestras including Ribeirao Preto Symphony Orchestra (Brazil), Meadows Symphony Orchestra (Texas), and New Philharmonic Osaka.
Akari was a YAMAHA Music Foundation Scholarship recipient from 2009 to 2011. After studying privately with Mr. Claudio Soares and Ms. Mari Takeda in Japan, she studied with Mr. Choong Mo Kang and Mr. Julian Martin at The Juilliard School. She also has taken private lessons from renowned pianists including Jaques Rouvier, Vera Gornostaeva, Maria João Pires and Alessio Bax.
